Journal Blog post #1 - Reflection
Pages 1 - 34

Write down your first impressions of the book or play. Ask some questions. Write down quotations. Copy whole passages that are difficult or that you really like a lot.

At first I felt a bit bewildered by the, somewhat unusual, start to the book and the chapter numbers. But I quickly understood that the story was told through the perspective of someone who is disabled. I thought that it definitely is rare to find stories that adress disabilities and I was curious as to how this story would turn out to be.

The plot about the dog murder is also something that can get me pulled in, without the uneasy feeling I get when a person dies (not implying that I wasnt sad when I read that the dog died).

"I find people confusing" - page 19

Reading further in this chapter I realized that people really do tend to use a lot of phrases and idioms and other body language, that is just expected to be understood by everyone, regardless of their knowledge of the culture or their mental state. It's something you don't really think about once you've grown accustomed to it.
